Small Concrete Home Near Madrid Displaying an Irregular Shape

Casa NM was designed by gaSSz Architects and is located in San Martín de Valdeiglesias, Madrid, Spain. At the top of the plot, using a clearing in the pine forest, the house sits in front of a natural view. The initial parallelepiped shape of the residence was partially adjusted to create a volume with truncated corners and a diagonal roof. Reinforced concrete was used for the exterior finish of the residence, a solution that is both functional and aesthetic, visually integrating the dwelling in its environment. The project is composed of two levels: the upper floor accommodates two bedrooms and a shared bathroom, while the one below hosts the common areas (living room, kitchen and main bathroom). The windows act as breaches in the concrete walls, welcoming sunlight during the day and subtly contrasting the darkness of the night.
